No. 20 Texas A&M (8-3, 5-2 SEC) will host the No. 3 Texas Longhorns in the biggest game of the year thus far. The winner will face Georgia in the SEC Championship game on Saturday, Dec. 7.

How we got here is comical, and it is one of the reasons the 12-team playoff structure was always the right decision. A 3-loss Aggie team still has a chance to make the playoffs, while the Longhorns are likely in regardless of what happens on Saturday night.

However, nothing is guaranteed, and after a 13-year drought, one of the greatest rivalries in sports is back and better than ever, as Kyle Field is slated to be nearly sold out and the loudest it’s been all year.

This is also a big weekend for Texas A&M and coach Mike Elko recruiting-wise, as the Aggies will host a very long list of 2025, 2026, and 2027 prospects, including several commits.
