The Chicago Bears are on the hunt for a new head coach, but it seems that NFLlegend Bill Belichick may not be interested in coaching Caleb Williams. The Bears have sacked their head coach Matt Eberflus following another disappointing loss, this time to the Detroit Lions in a high-profile Thanksgiving game.
Eberflus’ decision not to use a timeout late in the game was particularly baffling. Despite the potential appeal of coaching Williams, Belichick might not be so keen if the Bears come knocking.
After the Bears’ preseason defeat to the Houston Texans, the 72-year-old made no secret of his lack of admiration for Williams. On an episode of ‘Inside the NFL,’ Belichick gave a frank assessment of the former USC star’s performance.

Whoever they played against in preseason, it wasn’t the best players on the other team,” he said, adding: “He wasn’t accurate. He’s 10-for-20.”

Even when others praised the passes Williams did manage to complete, Belichick remained unimpressed by the quality of the successful passes compared to the ones he missed. “Yeah, they weren’t that good,” he concluded, much to the amusement of his colleagues. “There was a couple of highlight plays. But they weren’t that good.”
He also made his opinions clear on the ‘Pat McAfee Show’, pointing out that while Williams has some merit, the Bears’ issues are much broader. “But, you know, to me, the bigger thing is just where the Bears are,” began Belichick.

“I mean, they can’t protect, they can’t move the ball, they can’t score any points. [The Jacksonville Jaguars], same situation. I mean, you have several of these teams that just – we talked about this at the beginning of the year Pat, in Chicago.
They have this All-Star quarterback, these All-Star receivers, the greatest skill players in the history of football. And the offensive line a problem. They can’t run the ball, they can’t protect. [D’Andre] Swift is doing all he can but it’s just hard.
