OXFORD — As has been the case for much of the Ole Miss football season, senior receiver Tre Harris won’t play.

Harris is not available for the Rebels (8-3, 4-3 SEC) in the Egg Bowl against Mississippi State (2-9, 0-7) on Friday (2:30 p.m., ABC) at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. On Thursday night, Harris was listed as doubtful. He has been dealing with a lower-body injury. Harris was downgraded after entering the week as questionable on the injury report.

After not playing since Oct. 12, Harris made his return in Ole Miss‘ game at Florida in Week 13. It was brief, as he exited the game just before halftime after landing awkwardly. The Rebels ended up losing 24-17. Despite his limited playing time, he still leads the SEC with 1,030 receiving yards.

Because of the loss against the Gators, the Rebels‘ College Football Playoff hopes took a tumble. Ole Miss checked in at No. 14 in the CFP rankings and needs a win and some help to make the 12-team field.

Harris will be one of the 34 Rebels to walk on senior day, per Ole Miss. Quarterback Jaxson Dart will walk, too.
